Concept Stray Animal Emergency Fund (SAEF) in conjunction with Furrst and Furrmost Pooch Palace fosters dog friendly stray dogs in an open boarding, green, loving environment until a home is found.  It is the ultimate environment for stray dogs.

What does this mean

In conjunction with Furrst and Furrmost Pooch Palace...

What this means is that SAEF takes advantage of Furrst and Furrmost's facility and kennel license.  Furrst and Furrmost has a class 2 kennel license, so it can have up to 25 dogs on its property.  Furrst and Furrmost donates some of its boarding space to SAEF so that 5 dogs that need homes can be sheltered until a home is found.

Dog Friendly Stray Dogs...

What this means is that SAEF will only foster dogs that pass Furrst and Furrmost's dog interview.  It will not foster aggressive or unadoptable dogs.  I

Open Boarding environment...

What this means that as long as a human is at Furrst and Furrmost, which is currently at least 16 hours a day, the fosters are not caged or kenneled.  They are free to roam in a 2000 square foot facility that is on 2 acres of Furrst and Furrmost's fenced land.  See Furrst and Furrmost's web site for pictures and more information on the facility at furrstandfurrmost.com.

Until a home is found...

What this means is that Furrst and Furrmost will not euthenize the dogs even if it takes a long time to find the dog(s) a home.

Green...

In conjunction with Furrst and Furrmost Pooch Palace, SAEF is constructing a windmill that will provide all its electrical needs.  The windmill is expected to be operational by January 1, 2009.

What SAEF pays for SAEF pays for the foster dog(s) food, shots, alteration (if necessary) and all veterinary care on a dollar for dollar basis.  There is no overhead charged tacked on to the cost of food or veterinary care.  SAEF only pays Furrst and Furrmost $100.00 per month for use of its facility.  All SAEF dogs are fully immunized and SAEF also complies with California law and will only adopt out altered dogs.
SAEF's goals See About SAEF for its goal of taking over all 25 spaces at Furrst and Furrmost to become a total open boarding shelter for 25 homeless dogs.
